PSI Software SE Geschäftsbereich Elektrische Energie

General company description:

The PSI Group develops software products to optimize the flow of energy and materials for utilities and industry. As an independent software manufacturer with over 2,300 employees, PSI has been the technology leader for process control systems since 1969, which ensure sustainable energy supply, mobility and production by combining AI methods with industrially proven optimization processes. The innovative industry products can be operated by the customer themselves or in the cloud.

PSI software is used in integrated control rooms for large mines and energy supply companies, where it brings together data from different areas of production and production equipment for real-time decision support. PSI software already controls charging management in depots and depots for electrically powered buses in various major European cities and is active in the management of micro grids.

The Grid Energy Management division offers systems for monitoring and controlling all energy grids, optimizing asset service (fault clearance, maintenance and crisis management), load and energy management systems as well as systems for achieving maximum automation in the liberalized energy market.

Project role

In the ELMAR research project, PSI is expanding the cloud-based IT platform to include integrated charging management. With its expertise in the monitoring, control and optimization of energy networks and the charging infrastructure for bus fleets, PSI is making a significant contribution to the analysis and design of this charging management for the raw materials industry. This includes the adaptation of existing concepts to support the charging control of self-driving vehicles.
During the implementation phase, PSI integrates existing components for the integration of charging infrastructure and expands them to meet the special requirements of the raw materials industry. In addition, PSI ensures the collection and provision of the necessary data, which serves as the basis for the development and optimization of prototype use cases.

In demo operation, PSI supports the functionality of the loading management system and prepares the findings and data obtained after completion. These results will be published and checked for their transferability for bus fleet operators.
