In the limestone quarry of Eigenrieden we want to reduce the CO₂ emissions in raw material extraction and the production of building material mixtures and grit step by step to operate the first climate neutral quarry in Germany by 2027. This pilot project of decarbonization makes the location in Thuringia of our subsidiary Mineral Baustoff GmbH a pioneer over the whole industry in terms of sustainability, environmental projection and innovation. It shall become a thing and serve as a role model of the climate friendly transformation of other mines of the STRABAG group.
